Downside Builders Ltd

Just wanted to say a massive thankyou to Brian and the team at Downs Side Builders for making it possible for the children in the local community to receive the Bullying and Road Safety Publications. Without the help and genoristy of people like Brian our work would not be possible. We would like to take this opportunity to thankyou so much and wish you all the best and encourage you to support and use their services. Kind Regards Stepping Stones 4 Life

Downside are a brilliant family run building firm who we highly recommend. Friendly, informative, high standard of work, really on the ball and popping in to check on everything - they have made our works painless! Always on time, tidy and just lovely people. We are delighted with our project and wouldn't use anyone else for our 'phase 2' when the time comes! Thank you Downside!

Downs Side were fantastic from start to finish. Having used them on a different property 12 years ago we had no hesitation calling them again. It was great to see many of the guys are still part of the team which is testament to the way Downs Side is run. Project management is seamless, the work is excellent and everyone on the project either directly for Downs Side or brought in by them was friendly, polite and very good at what they do. We would wholeheartedly recommend Downs Side to anyone. A proper building company brilliantly run producing excellent results on time, in budget and with a smile.

Recently completed a loft conversion. The whole process was smooth. All the trades were friendly and went out of their way to ensure we were happy with the build. Stuart, Brian and Nicki were amazing to deal with, advising and keeping the build on track. The work was to a high standard and always left tidy at the end of the day. Happily recommend them to all my friends.

I would highly recommend Downside Builders. They recently completed our loft conversion and their work was outstanding. All the team were fantastic and friendly as well as highly skilled. Their communication was excellent and gave some great advice. Thank you guys .

The team at Downs Side helped design and build my new loft conversion. They were on budget and produced a very high quality finished product. I had a few additional contractors on-site during the works and they also complimented the quality of the "behind the scenes" works (something they see often in their respective trades). Downs Side managed everything from start to finish, taking onboard my thoughts and changes throughout the process. I would highly recommend.

The whole team is very friendly and approachable. Gave us a competitive price and started when they advised. Found them easy to deal with and responded to messages, calls and emails quickly. All issues we had were discussed and resolved easily. The timescale stated for the work was spot on, all completed as they originally stated. They have undertook the same works to neighbours and local properties who all stated the same as me. I would highly reccommend and would definately use them again.

Best experience with building work we've had to date! Stuart and his team were brilliant throughout, very polite and considerate and even finished ahead of schedule. We're really enjoying all the space and views that have now been created as a result of our loft conversion. I would highly recommend them.

Very happy with the work carried out by Downs side. Everyone we encountered from Brian’s team were tidy, polite, brilliant at their craft and as such we have a wonderful loft extension which we are very proud of and thankful for. Would certainly recommend and would use them again for future projects

Our experience with Downs Side was absolutely fantastic. Everything was completed on time, and exactly to budget. As with all building projects, there were minor snags as we went through, but they were always sorted immediately, and often before we even noticed. They were able to source extra tradespeople at very short notice (eg when we decided we wanted built in wardrobes or when stages were completed earlier than expected) and so I don’t think we went a single day without someone coming to do something helpful. Every person who came to the house was friendly, helpful and clean, and they made a huge effort to make sure they were safe around our toddler and quiet when the baby was sleeping, which we really appreciated! We very quickly had complete faith in Stuart and Brian to oversee the build and special thanks to Chris and Gary who did an incredible job on the main structural work. We couldn’t be happier with the finished product, and the price was very good. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Downside completed a loft extension for me. After receiving a very fair and well informed quote. We went for Downside and where very pleased. All correspondence was very official and clear but on the phone it was a friendly and laid back conversation. With out a doubt a pleasure to deal with. Brian and Steve where easy to talk to and kept me well informed of the progress. With fast responses and strait talking i would not hesitate to recommend to a friend. There was help and advice through the whole process allowing the whole experience to be stress free.

Downs Side have just finished a single storey extension for us and we are so pleased with the work they've done. Everything has been finished to a high standard and the finished extension looks fantastic. The guys who were on site were all friendly and polite and always left the site tidy and organised. They have been really quick to reply to any emails or texts and help with any queries we've had throughout the project. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

We have used Downside Builders twice now and will continue to use in the future for all our projects. We have always been really impressed with the team, their professionalism and standards are excellent and were a pleasure to have in the house.

Downs Side have recently built a loft conversion for us and we are thrilled with the result. They managed the project throughout and all the team worked incredibly hard to provide a fantastic end result. We love our new bedroom, en-suite and dressing room.

Downside did an extension for us last year. On time and on budget. We were really happy with the communication from the firm and the reliability and workmanship of their team. The end result is fantastic and totally changed how we live in the house.

We have used Down Side Builders four times since 2011 and have been very satisfied with the work done on all the occasions, from building an extension, to removing an interior wall and w.c to enlarge a bedroom, to replacing a flat roof with a pitched one and most recently extending a downstairs w.c to incorporate a shower unit. We have always found them to be reliable and considerate and can thoroughly recommend them.

We have used Downs Side Builders a number of times for our extension and most recently our loft conversion. The quality of work was excellent and we are very happy once again with the finished product. We have recommended them a number of times and have no hesitation in doing so. A very competitive, skilled, polite, quality driven business.

Downside Builders were amazing, really nice guys too. They have done the best job, even through the difficult times during lockdown they still managed to finish our loft room safely and quickly. We are so pleased with our new room and ensuite, its completely changed our house. Would definitely recommend.

What a great friendly and professional company Downs Side are. They did an amazing job adding 2 bedrooms and another bathroom into the loft conversion they completed for us. Would definitely recommend them!

Brian and team recently completed a loft conversion for us and i can't express enough how professional his team are and how easy it was to work with them. Always on time, clear up any mess every night and we were very happy with the end result. so much so that we are asking them to do further work for us. I would highly recommend.

Loft extension 2016: throughout the whole process, Downside Builders exceeded our expectations. The team feels like part of our family now. We got the reno bug, and they came back in 2019 to modernize our back extension. Really organized, clean, thoughtful guys. Highly recommend them for builders you can trust & who will not let you down. Brian & Stuart guided us through, held our hands & their team are all fantastic guys.

We commissioned Downs Side to work on a two-loft project (ourselves and our semi-detached neighbours), following a local recommendation. This project also involved some downstairs extension work on both properties. I commend their work and their keenness to satisfy us as their clients. We were particularly pleased with the professional behaviour of their workmen - always courteous and mindful of language, cleanliness, etc. We are very satisfied with the finished product. There were minor challenges along the way (as you would expect with any job of this scale) - these were all resolved amicably, reasonably and fairly.

We must be the only people in the world who were sad to see our builders leave! It was a long job, almost knocking down and rebuilding but we love our house and everybody who visits us says "WOW!" The project: demolish internal walls of existing bungalow, remove flat roof on old kitchen extension to create high ceiling with windows. Create chimney for range cooker. Convert ground floor bedroom into large bathroom. Add staircase, build two double ensuite bedrooms and rebuild roof. Finished to provide: large open plan living/kitchen area, under stair storage, double bedroom and large bathroom downstairs, two double bedrooms each with own bathroom upstairs. Wonderful family house! (they even put a weathervane up for us as a "topping off" ceremony!)

Loft Extension, during lockdown! We are thrilled with the final result. The quality of the workmanship is high and all of the many different tradespeople were professional, friendly and accommodating and very skilled. We used the company’s own architect who really made the most of the space available. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the project took twice as long as planned. Despite these difficult circumstances, Stuart and the company managed the situation extremely well by keeping in touch, restarting as soon as it was safe to do so and completing the project in good time after reopening. We would highly recommend DownsSide.

What a find Downs Side builders are! they have converted my tiny 2 bed bungalow into a 3 bed house, they advised on all aspects of the design and build and have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to what you can and can't do. Thank you Brian and team for a fantastic job, on time on budget and above expectations!
