About

Chapelwood Joinery are carpenters in Colchester. They describe more than 10 years of designing and making furniture and joinery by hand, and their website names interior and exterior hand-made joinery as the service.

The pieces they list are kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, studies, freestanding furniture, stairs, windows and doors, made for people who want natural materials and traditional craft skills. They say an idea, a sketch or a plan can become individual hand-made furniture, and that they both produce and install it.

Their stated aim is a high standard of furniture and joinery, with a smooth experience for the customer. They also say they belong to The Guild of Master Craftsmen.

Chapelwood Joinery made a bespoke kitchen for a house in Saint Leonards. They produced something described as closer to a piece of fine furniture than a standard kitchen, in line with earlier projects that had been looked over before the commission. Their joiner is described as perfectionist and conscientious, and as easy to have working in the house.

We commissioned Chapelwood joinery to make a bespoke kitchen for our house in Saint Leonards. When I had Met when I realised he was a finecarpenter and Joiner. After viewing his previous projects we were convinced he was going to give us a kitchen akin to a fine piece of furniture. He didn’t fail in this regard. His sense of perfection and conscientiousness was not missed on us. We both found Wayne a pleasure to have around the house which was a bonus.
