Homeowners frequently report fast emergency responses during power outages, noting clear telephone updates and engineers who resolve main fuse or cable faults within hours. Conversely, other feedback highlights long delays of over 24 hours, unaddressed reports of exposed power cables, and initial dismissals of network faults as internal property issues. Further complaints focus on insufficient compensation for appliances damaged by power surges and disruptive site crews.
I contacted UK Power Networks regarding a power cut at my shop. Instead of investigating, the service team immediately dismissed the issue and claimed it was an internal fault with my property. They only accepted responsibility and took action after receiving multiple phone calls from other people about the same power cut. The initial customer service was unhelpful, and the advice felt completely self-defensive rather than customer-focused. A major utility provider should verify network faults before blaming the customer.
We had serious ongoing issues with the power supply, yet Velocity repeatedly claimed there was “no issue” on their end and kept lying to us. Their lack of honesty wasted a huge amount of our time and caused unnecessary disruption. Extremely disappointed with their attitude and professionalism. Would not recommend.
Unbelievably unprofessional organisation and waste of resources!! Had power outage due to fault in UK power networks cable today morning. Nothing has been done after 24hrs despite UK power networks sending tons of their staff and vans. They spend hours hanging around and wait for other colleagues to do something or drink coffee or watch YouTube videos whilst waiting. Such waste of time and resources. Even after 24hrs nothing done and new team clueless although they came with 5 vans and they are saying they cannot safely isolate main power to repair main power cable after they spent 3 hrs on this issue. LOL
I have notified Power Network multiple times that the main power cable leading to my property’s main box is damaged, with copper wires visibly exposed. I first reported this back in May 2024, and each time I was told that someone would come out to inspect it. To this day, no one has come and the issue remains unresolved. This is not a minor inconvenience, it’s a serious electrical safety hazard. The lack of response and follow-through is extremely disappointing and makes me feel like the safety of customers is not a priority. After months of waiting, it seems like no one cares about addressing the problem.
Was a good experience to me and their where plenty of peoples were dear very interesting as far as I remember love people,
Had a fire in my home which I was told came from the ‘main cable’ of which belonged to UK Power Network, was told by all of the engineers that came, they could see it was obvious it was their property that caused the issues and it wasn’t our fault and was all from their side, Haste engineer visited and said the exact same. However now being told that they don’t want to take blame because ‘they didn’t do it intentionally, and it was an event which was very rare’ however is that not what your insurance is for! To cover when customers have property and belongings damaged luckily we were in and it hadn’t burnt down my home!
I have experienced an electrical surge like hundreds of other households in North West London in May. Lots of my appliances died or have been damaged. The 'engineers' of their company partner Haste stated that some of my faulty items were not related to the UKPN electrical surge, including an expensive computer. I have been left enable to complete work, and the compensation they offer for the lost of appliances, time spend and lost job opportunities is, of course, not covering a fraction of the inconvenience. Bad experience.
We had an unplanned power outage yesterday (I was informed there were about 120 households that were affected by it) and when we wanted to report the problem, the staff assigned was quite patient when giving us instructions on what to check on our end during the power outage. He was also respectful and showed genuine concern for our wellbeing. The staff assigned to call us back to give us any update was kind and called us three times to tell us the progress and give us some reassurance and finally to check that we have the power back on. You have a great team with a great customer service. I hope you will commend them and acknowledge their invaluable compassion to their work. A raise would be good too but overall, I hope the rest of your team are like them. They are role models and a standard of professionalism that is worth following/mentioning.
Got cut off when reporting dangerous situation with electrics
Came within 2 hours of calling. Main fuse was fixed within 15 minutes with power back on! Thankyou!
5 star customer service and super reactive... They keep you updated during all the process. Adam was a star call several times .if you have a problem with your power do call them
Tastiest electricity i’ve ever eaten. When i got tasered i really felt alive for the 1st time in my life. Electric shock therapy made me the man i am today. it’s cured me AT LAST!
Had power interruption in the afternoon in our flat, they said engineers will come within the next hour, at 1AM the next day engineers still haven’t arrived....very poor service...
Always seem to be fast on the case in the rare times of a power outage. You can sign up for text updates on their website, and they keep you very informed with what's happening. They called me to let me know the status of the issue and asked if there were any faults with any of my appliances after the power was restored. Excellent customer service. I feel safe/comfortable knowing that these guys are on-the-ball whenever there is an issue 👍
Very unhappy that having taken over 24 hours to restore power that UKPN's compensation is so low - especially when compared against ruined food, lost time and the general inconvenience caused - all because the neutral cable fell off! Surely if it had been regularly serviced........?????
What an excellent service! I had to call them today after a power cut affecting my flat and I have to say the service was incredible. The person on the phone line was really helpful and they sent an engineer to the flat, in record time. After only one hour, power was restored.
Had an issue at my property and a team of highly skilled electricians came out next day and sorted the issue promply and professionally. Great service.
Four man team in the road in Wandsworth at 11pm yelling at the top of their voices and using constant obscenities. Odious and unprofessional. Discraceful!
Cowboys who have no idea how to carry work. 2 days and counting to fix a problem that only their office spotted on our road. We have been left with no electricity for the best part of yesterday and it appears once again today. Their customer service is non existant.Bluntly denied a generator as "not cost effective". Cost effective for who? Old folks live around here,do you really expect them to live with no electricity for 2 days and nights??
Two of their staff - John and Paul - attended to an event (which could have caused a fire) at my home this evening. They were courteous, professional, efficient. They were so conscientious. Thank you.
Scam tactics! Beware of cold callers pretending to be official energy registrars
Absolutely terrible! Shocking! Just had a guy called Scott Smith calling me at my business hassling us to sign up to UK Power Networks. Hung up and he kept calling back calling me a liar. And apparently he's a manager!! Expremely poor customer service!!
Giving 5 stars does not justice to my experience last night. I don't want to say this is the best customer service I received, only because I didn't feel like a customer, but the whole experience felt like I had some friends helping me out. Had our power fail at the business address after 6pm on a Friday night, called them after 7pm and all was fixed in under 90 minutes with 2 call-out engineers who were so astoundingly brilliant, we can't do them justice. Before making the initial call, I was dreading the experience and fearing that we'd struggle to get powered up. However, Gary on the phone was really helpful and I felt much more reassured. Expecting the engineers to take some time, I went to a different office, but had a call within minutes saying that they were outside. I promised I'd be back in 5-6 minutes, but I actually ended taking 15 minutes to get back to where the fault was. Guess what? Not only were the engineers (Mark Bates and Jason Wallis) still waiting, they didn't make me feel guilty and were very humble. They got working despite very tough conditions but were just so determined, helpful and friendly throughout and got the fault resolved really quickly and gave some very handy feedback. As a business, we like to think that we offer a good service and we take pride in trying to go out of our way as much as possible. Mark and Jason have left us feeling both inspired and humbled and we have a lot to learn. I just regret not having a video of the whole experience as this should be a case study on how service should be. Again, I don't feel like a customer, but like someone who had two mates helping him out. Thanks again guys and we hope to be able to one day help these guys in the same way they helped us... ;)
I don't usually post reviews like this - however the quality service provided by UKPowerNetworks was such that I felt compelled to give something back. We had a power cut in our property and when we reported the problem to UKPowerNetworks, Kirsty was really helpful and understanding and escalated the matter as appropriate to ensure we had engineers working on the repair within the hour. We were up and running within 1.5 hours of reporting and I feel really lucky that we have such a professional and astute company looking after our electrical power cables in the area.
We had a power cut on Tuesday night so we called UK power networks and was thoroughly impressed with the customer service that we received! Ernest was so helpful and understanding. Their text alert service is really useful too. The fault was rectified in record time so we were back up and running within a hour. Thank you Ernest!
