Thornhill Plumbing and Heating - Plumbers Poole

Fantastic service, very knowledgeable. Solved my problem and we are now warm again. Huw was able to come quickly and charged a very fair price

An emergency call out. A great swift response. Pin hole leak in a hard to reach area that required that required some planning. After a few hours work the problem was solved and all cleaned up. Will use again thanks Huw. 👍

We have used Thornhill Plumbing & Heating for a couple of years now for boiler servicing and repairs and have always found them reliable, and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, our experience this year was disappointing. We were promised a boiler service in the week before Christmas, as we will be abroad in January when it is normally carried out. An appointment was provisionally made for 17 December and then confirmed for 18 December, but no one attended. There was no follow-up communication, explanation, or apology, nor was an alternative appointment offered. A brief call or email would have allowed us to make other arrangements, which did not happen.

Superb service. Top communication. Transparent pricing. And they even wore Santa hats when they came to service our boiler in December. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Absolute gentleman, I called from Manchester after watching a you tube video this company created to help people. It was late at night and I had no heating, this man took his time to help me assess the situation over the phone and in the morning he sent me viessmanns phone number to call for a warranty claim. I can’t recommend this company enough, a genuine man who is willing to help a complete stranger from miles away. Thank you

Recently has a new boiler fitted by Huw and his apprentice. Huw's professionalism and attention to detail is second to none and the job was completed to a very high standard. Would recommend if you need any plumbing work completed.

A highly capable individual - I can’t rate him more highly, but chooses to ignore messages for continued work should they not suit, instead of an open and honest decline.

Phoned huw this morning as we didn’t have hot water, huw came out straight away, and fixed our boiler. Great service and highly recommend. Thankyou for coming out on a Saturday to help us

Huw was recommended to me, great guy, very knowledgeable and couldn’t have been more thorough with my boulder strip/service and a couple of other bits that needed doing. Fully explained everything. Couldn’t recommend more

I wanted to write a rare review to recommend Thornhill Plumbing and Heating to anyone else who over the years has been disappointed by sub-standard tradesmen. When you're looking for a tradesman, if you're like me, you probably have an ideal person you'd like to find - someone reliable, knowledgeable, trustworthy and who acts with integrity. The chance of finding someone like that seems remote, so I was shocked when I actually did find someone who not only met but exceeded that criteria. Thornhill Plumbing and Heating, headed up by Huw, are a rare breed indeed and I can't recommend them highly enough. They recently repaired my boiler and went above and beyond to sort out an associated gas safety issue. I cannot fault any aspect of their service. Huw was friendly, respectful and his communication before, during and after the job was exemplary. This is an honest review from a satisfied customer wishing to share my experience with others so they can have their faith in tradesmen restored like I did.

Messaged 5 times on live chat didn't work, messaged directly to no avail. No response no recommendation for this behaviour. Not professional at all will use another's services

Excellent service, highly recommended. Huw picked up the phone immediately and was here within the hour, despite it being the weekend. He repaired the leak promptly, efficiently and in a very friendly manner. Will definitely use again in the future.

Huw and his lovely apprentice Lola did a wonderful job fixing a number of problems in my bathroom, so knowledgeable, fair, respectful, polite and thorough! Cannot recommend enough!

Huw did a fantastic job, would highly recommend and will be booking in for the boiler service next year. Thank you

Huw (or “SuperHuw” as we call him) from Thornhill Plumbing has an uncanny way of getting boilers working that all others can’t!! He is truly a professor of his craft, and without doubt is the most driven and knowledgeable plumber ever to step inside my home of 17 years .. And trust me, there’s been a few! He is also reasonably priced for the service he offers. 5*

Huw is very good with his appointment dates and information on timekeeping. He is a good communicator. He is a good knowledgeable worker, careful with property, clean and tidies up after his work.

I would absolutely recommend Huw. 4 days without heating and hot water. Huw attended and diagnosed a sludged up boiler. He went above and beyond to flush it, replace parts, install upgrades and all for half the price I thought it was going to be. He's amazing, full of knowledge, polite, witty, explains things really well and is the cleanest engineer I've ever met. I would not hesitate in using him again. Thanks Huw. Our heating and hot water has never felt so hot! We can actually hear the water flowing around like it's a brand new system and our boiler has a big cheesy grin on his face 😁 you're a superstar!

Very professional.

A genuine gentleman who is both honest and knowledgeable!! Arrived on time, very clean and tidy work. Huw explained everything that was needed and only charged what he had previously quoted. I attended the appointment as my parents are elderly and i can honestly say that i wouldn't attend in the future, very trustworthy Highly recommended #new customer for life

An absolutel lifesaver! Rang me extremely quickly and was able to give advice over the phone that enabled me to get my heating back on! I have been messed around by two other companies who didn’t even ask the basic questions that Huw did. It’s such a shame that he has moved out of area because I would love to have been a regular customer! He was really kind, friendly, and knowledgeable! Top guy!

Huw managed to squeeze me in short notice at the end of the day to fix some leaky radiator valves. He turned up on time and cracked on straight away. He did a brilliant job at fixing the radiator valves and even went one step further and fixed some pipes that were installed badly by the previous owner. All in all a very reliable tradesman and charges a reasonable price. Highly recommended

Huw from Thornhill Plumbing & Heating has once again helped us, he took off an old radiator & fitted a new double one in our tiny hallway. Huw is very friendly, funny & knows his trade very well... We will always use Huw....x

Huw recently serviced our boiler. His knowledge is first class, very thorough and explains everything without all the usual jargon. He will now become our go to for all our gas/plumbing needs - couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

I would strongly recommend Thornhill Plumbing and Heating. Experienced proffesional with knowledge and skillset. I saved the number for future jobs. Looks like he manage his time very well. He arrived in exact time. Perfect customer service. Thank you.

Had a tap with no water pressure, phoned Huw and he organised for visiting the next day via texts. Given it was not urgent I appreciated the prompt visit. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it within 30 minutes. He was kind and obviously knowledgeable about his craft. He wasn't too expensive and was upfront with costs. I definitely recommend this company

Huw has done amazing work for us one early Saturday morning when we woke up to find a big leak. Felt like we were in good hands from the first communication. Proved equally trustworthy and skilled. Worked efficiently, attention to detail, left clean and tidy. Work was at the highest standards. Will keep him in our books and we would warmly recommend him to others.

Huw was able to promptly recognise and sort a problem with my boiler, that two other plumbers had been able to fix. He is knowledgeable, highly skilled and honest. I would highly recommend him.

Gold standard of tradesmen, master of his craft. Recommend highly

Huw fitted an unvented water system & has made a 1st class job. He is reliable professional, extremely tidy & keeps you informed every step of the way. He goes above & beyond & clearly takes great pride in his job.Would highly recommend.

I've been meaning to leave a review for, must be, over 2 months now. So I can only apologize for the delay. Huw is an amazing plumber. And I say that after encountering some questionable ones, where work was done and things got worse! Anyway.. My boiler was leaking very badly. It had a number of issues, some of which had already been 'fixed'. Tbh I was afraid that it would be written off (even though it was only installed 8 yrs ago). But amazingly, after a whole days work Huw managed to fix it. He explained things as he went and showed which parts needed replacing. At one point he showed me the thick black, sticky muck that had accumulated in that magnet thingy (I don't know what its called). It had never been cleaned out and he explained that it was causing damage to parts. It was a lot of work, but I greatly appreciate that he was able to save the boiler. He did a couple of other jobs, including putting in a new toilet flush as the previous one did not work properly. To anyone looking for a plumber, I know how difficult it is to find a good one. I would very highly recommend Thornhill Plumbing and he really does deserve all the positive reviews. (Maria. Poole, Dorset)

Huw and his team recently carried out a complete boiler change without any complications. I was informed at every stage of the work and it was carried out with an exceptional level of workmanship. I would not hesitate in recommending them and using them again. Great company

Nice chap, highly knowledgeable and skilled, had fair prices and went above and beyond for us. Can't ask for more, 5 stars all day long!

Thank you so much for your help today. Super speedy, super professional & incredible helpful. Will definitely get in contact again if we have any plumping issues in the future.

Attended at short notice to diagnose and fix fault on hot water system. Very quick, efficient and professional.

Huw arrived within 30 minutes of my call, found the problem within a few minutes and then went on to do a full boiler service. Fantastic Engineer, very knowledgeable and a great guy. Highly recommend.

Fantastic service, came at fairly short notice, gave a choice of time slots, arrived promptly, Huw is very knowledgeable, courteous, and explained everything thoroughly. Carried out an excellent tidy job, highly recommended.

Fast, friendly and very polite. Knowledgeable and kept me up to date with what he was doing.

Thank you to Huw of Thornhill Plumbing. Huw sealed my defunct gas cooker bayonet pipe and wired in my tumble dryer. I found him to be efficient timely and tidy and would certainly use him again.

Very happy with the boiler service. A major service with a lot of replacement parts. Price very reasonable and nice and clean and tidy afterwards.

on time, clean, tidy, respectful, polite and value for money . what more do you want? Definitely recommended :-)))

Huw was brilliant. Replaced my whole boiler and heating system. Kept me updated the whole way. Very professional, tidy and work carried out to a very high standard. Highly recommend.

Huw the Plumber is an absolutely fab chap. He is happy, friendly, knowledgeable & keeps you updated every step of the way. Our Sewer pipe at the front of the house decided to erupt in the most awful way ! We cleaned it all up & I got quotes.... One quote we got quoted us £1300 !! I looked at other Plumbers & found Thornhill Plumbing & Heating in Hamworthy, thank goodness. He quoted us £190, what a difference... We are so chuffed to find Huw, he is a fantastic Plumber. Thank you again Huw...xx

Leak in bathroom. Friend recommended Huw. Speedy arrival, found and stopped leaking. Repaired very awkward to get at cistern etc. Left bathroom very clean.

Thornhill provided an excellent service when we needed a replacement for our electric shower. From first contact when Huw helped us select a model to buy and advised on price and quality, he was quick to reply, kept in touch, and gave us confidence that he would do a good job. The work was neat, prompt and efficient, and Huw cleared up afterwards. All in all a service worth paying for. **And yes, we did admire the new shiny chrome pipe instead of the old copper one - a good idea of yours! Improves the look of a fairly basic shower cubicle.

Full professionalism and punctuality. The leak was fixed quickly and professionally, as was the problem with the toilet flush. Neat and clean after the job is done. If I ever have any plumbing problems, I will definitely contact Huw first.

We had a wood pigeon stuck behind our gas fire inside the chimney last thing on Friday. After phoning around and not managing to find a gas engineer able to come out for days I found huw.Even though he was busy and not really able to come out he dropped his plans and came straight out to help and freed the bird unharmed. I was extremely grateful for his genuine concern for the bird that would have had to stay stuck for possibly days.Huw also gave me valuable advice and checked the gas system and found a small leak that could have caused a problem. Very impressed with huw and will call him for future maintenance on our gas system.

I recommend Huw very highly. He’s prompt, efficient, thorough, friendly, honest and tidy. He fixed our boiler, gave it a long overdue 5 year service and was able to explain all the issues without losing me in technical language. He filled out an in-depth service form and also sent us three videos he made showing exactly what he had done, which parts were replaced and explaining how to maintain it so this doesn’t happen again. Thank you Huw!

I can’t rate Huw highly enough, if you need a plumber in the Poole area he is your man! Quick to respond, he did a thorough job diagnosing the issue (including showing me videos to explain the problem) then made time in his busy diary to quickly come back to fit the parts. Honest, professional and an absolute gent, I will definitely be using Huw in future for any plumbing work.

Huw is fantastic. I don't normally bother to leave reviews for people, but had to make the exception this time. On time, great communication, explained everything that was needed and why in great detail until we understood it, went the extra mile and clearly a real expert at what he does. Was even kind enough to take on a couple of extra little jobs we needed doing whilst he was here - very highly recommended!

Excellent! Huw just done our central heating/hot water system. New boiler, pipes, radiators & valves. 100% recommended for everyone who's need such job & more!

First class service, Huw stayed until the job was done and made some upgrades to our system which now works better than ever. Price was perfectly reasonable. No complaints! Recommended A* service

Huw has repaired my boiler in the past and most recently installed Hive for me. Very thorough, tidy and professional, highly recommend!

Huw managed to fit us in very short notice just before Christmas and returned after Christmas to complete second part of tye job. Very professional, polite, hardworking with massive knowledge what he is doing. He breakdown costs so you know what you pay for. Highly recommended and worth all the money

Huw came out the next morning at 7:30am prompt. He was polite, honest and very professional. He had the job done within the hour and saved me a lot of stress as it was 2 days away from Christmas. I came across Huw from Thornhill Plumbing by chance from a Google search, but I have now stored his number for the future. I would definitely recommend him to anyone else needing a plumber. Poole Dorset

What can i say Huw never lets me down first class workmanship and his attention to detail is above and beyond. He really is brilliant at his job.

Thornhill Plumbing were fantastic. Turned up same day we called, quoted for repair of our boiler (and didn't, like many others we initially called, push for a new boiler) - then ordered a part quickly, then turned up as when agreed and fixed it no problem, no fuss, and at the (very reasonable) price quoted. Also worked around our noisy teenager! Simply can't fault them - highly recommended.

Would highly recommend Thornhill Plumbing and Heating. Came out straight away to fix my boiler. Very professional. Tank you for your help!

Huw gave my father in law a great service today sorting a couple of tap issues at his house. He was very polite, understanding of the problem and carried out repairs in a very professional manner. He is to be recommended to anyone needing plumbing services and we thank him for a prompt response to our problem.

Cannot recommend Huw enough. Booked for boiler issue turned out to be bigger job and solved the problem the next day. Very professional and really happy with his service.

Huw came round very quickly and did a great job repairing my boiler.

Huw did a fabulous job at identifying what was a tricky issue in my old Victorian house. He completed the work smoothly - left the kitchen clean and wore protection over his boots when walking around in the house! Very polite considerate and professional. I have already booked him in for more work!

My boiler suddenly stopped working on Friday, I rang Huw who was able to come round on Saturday, he identified the problem but was unable to source a replacement part until Monday. Huw came round first thing Monday morning and was able to get my boiler up and running again. Huw spent the best part of 5 hours attending to my boiler and charged me a very reasonable price. I found Huw to be very efficient, professional and knowledgeable in his field. I am very glad I found Huw at such short notice, I highly recommend him and will use him again for my annual services. (Poole resident)

Amazing service. Would highly recommend. The gentleman was extremely polite, helpful, knowledgeable and thoughtful. Took his shoes off when entering the property. Was clean and tidy throughout. If your need of a plumber would highly recommend this gentleman and company. 5 star service

Huw is a great plumber and whilst I wish him well in Poole he’ll be sorely missed in Cardiff. Always thorough, professional and reliable. Would highly recommend him and all the best. Shaun

Huw installed a new combi boiler and has maintained it to a high standard ever since. He is very professional, knowledgeable and reliable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

I highly recommend Huw he has been coming to us for quite a few years to service our combi boiler and do any other jobs like install the toilet and shower, repair leaks in the toilet, etc. I trust Huw's work. He is polite and friendly and gets on with the job in hand. He is also very conscientious and meticulous going that extra mile and always cleans up very well after his work which is a huge plus in my book. Thanks Huw for looking after us so well.

We have had Huw come to help with lots of jobs, so far was a radiator removal and a new one relocated in a new postition, a full kitchen tap replacement, and a full boiler service. Top quality workmanship, knows his stuff and educates himself to stay ahead of the game, reliable, clean and tidy, and honest advice. I know of other larger jobs Huw has completed to high standards, and I would highly recommend for any job big or small.

We've used Thornhill Plumbing for a few years now originally through a reccomendation from a friend and we've never used any one else since, we trust Huw explicitly with our plumbing needs, he's extremely knowledgeable with his work, very reasonably priced and a genuinely lovely guy. I would not hesitate to reccomend Huw to anyone, he's a real gem of the trade.

Would highly recommend Huw. Professional, reliable, knowledgeable. Huw has done work both at my property and place of work, both excellent.

Huw was able to offer me a quick appointment at a convenient time. He messaged on the morning to confirm his arrival time and was on time. The repair was carried out quickly and he explained exactly what he had done and made recommendations. He was friendly and polite. I will definitely use Thornhill Heating and Pumbing again

Called this morning and Huw was at my house within 30 minutes, superb quality of work, friendly and professional. Job sorted quickly and without fuss. Would highly recommend his services. Thank you

Huw came out to the house within an half an hour of me calling to look at our faulty boiler. Unfortunately with the boiler being over 15 years old and beyond repair Huw waivered the call out fee which was hugely appreciated.

Awesome Plumber 100% satisfied, replaced shower pump and serviced water tank in attic , did a great job and would highly recommend him , and will always use him in the future. 👍

Huw and his team have just supplied and fitted our new baxi combi boiler. They were very helpful in advising us and incredibly efficient and prompt with everything throughout the whole process. Huw even made a video for us on how the new boiler works, best settings for our new thermostatic radiator valves and how to use the new nest thermostat that he fitted. Huw and his team would often work till late to try and get the job done as quickly as possible. I would recommend Huw to everyone as his prices are very reasonable, he his exceptionally trustworthy and incredibly professional.

Huw provided a really professional service on our boiler installation. He was very knowledgeable and possibly the tidiest tradesman I’ve ever had working in the house. Would highly recommend.

Amazing service. Diagnosed problem (no heating and hot water). Pump replaced without fuss. Definitely recommend!

Huw was extremely knowledgable & professional - I had 2 other plumbers attend my boiler & quoted me for the work. When Huw came he was able to fix the initial issue there and then with just a call out fee. Brilliant service & I’ll be using Huw again!

My boiler was due its service and after such a positive experience with Huw last year I asked him to service it again this year - Huw is super professional, quick to respond via phone/text and took the time to answer all my questions. When I had a question the following day Huw was quick to respond and came to double check everything was okay with the boiler - really above and beyond service. Thanks Huw!

Great service intelligent attentive and honest 👏

Huw was absolutely amazing thank you so much for responding so quickly you did an amazing job fixing other people's mistakes. You don't know how grateful I am and how much it meant to me as I was without heating and hot water . Would highly recommend and will always use in the future.

Called Huw on behalf of my neighbour on the weekend, their heating failed during a very cold spell. He made his self available on the Monday, diagnosed pump fault and changed accordingly. We found Huw to be very friendly and considerate, his charge for the repair was very cheap for his time and supply. One to put in the book for future, highly recommendable.

Fantastic service! Friendly and so professional and complete with his work! Called him out as had an annoying leak but he sorted everything out and nothing was to much trouble!! Well worth the money! Finally a decent plumber who kept to his word!!! Thanks so much!!!!!

Contacted Company via Google search for Corgi approved Services. Immediate response and managed to fit in the same day- unheard of! Kept me informed prior to working and during the work. Extremely tidy and professional. Work completed and price reasonable for response. Will use again if required.

Huw arrived 15 mins after my initial phone call, he quickly diagnosed the problem with the boiler, made a phone call to check parts availability, Went to get the parts and returned to complete the work. Keep us constantly informed. Boiler up and running within 3 hrs. Would highly recommend. 10/10.

Huw was absolutely fantastic. Friendly, informative and efficient. So happy with the service and will definitely use again.

Huw is an excellent plumber - professional and so tidy! He turned up when he said he would and explained everything to me. He repaired both my downstairs toilet and the bathroom toilet. He even spotted a potential water leak disaster with the water supply going to the toilet and sorted that out at the same time. Ive asked him to return to fix my shower. I wouldn't hesitate recommending him to anyone! Thank you Huw.

Fantastic service - they were recommended to me by a friend who was very pleased with their work, and they did not disappoint! The work was done efficiently and to a very high standard. I will definitely be using Thornhill Plumbing and Heating again!

Huw responded really quickly to my enquiry and was able to do the repair within a few days. When he came he was friendly and knowledgable and fixed my toilet in no time at all. So happy I called him!

Huw is the most professional heating engineer I have dealt with. Very honest and thorough. Highly recommend

Huw and his team have been superb for us over the last couple of years with a boiler installation, servicing and installing new pipes. Very professional and everything explained clearly. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Excellent service today from Huw who came to assess work and Tom who undertook the installation. Very professional workmen who were efficient and friendly.

Brilliant quick response to flush disaster, came next working day at 8am with parts all ready to go but needed total new cistern etc, went and got at once and replaced. This included taking off panels and resealing loo surround so could have been a problem, but you can’t even see anything has been done. Polite, clean, tidy and efficient. Great service, really impressed.

Huw was a life saver! The day before going away on a Sunday night he was here in 15 minutes and had everything fixed and solved in no time. There’s nothing like finding a reliable and quality plumber. Highly recommended

Do get in contact with Thornhill Plumbing and heating if you need any plumbing or heating services, as we highly recommend him. Once again Huw thank you, very much appreciated, mike

I had the boiler serviced and a radiator replaced. Both jobs carried out professionally. Turned up on time, sensitive to COVID risks by wearing masks etc. Cleaned everything away. Very happy customer.

We’ve used Huw at Thornhill Plumbing for the last 3 years to service our boiler. We’re always very happy with his work. Never any mess left, he brings his own vacuum cleaner. Huw sent me some pictures of our boiler stripped down and always leaves a written report of his work. I can’t recommend him highly enough. Reasonably priced as well. Jim in Whitchurch

Had a leak from the toilet which was stopped and then also found that the fill valve was breaking, from giving him a text he called me within 5 minutes to say he was on his way and booked to come back the next morning to fix a brand new top of the range fill valve. Amazing service always explaining what is wrong in detail and giving us advice for future.

My central heating broke on Monday. Huw fitted us in as an urgent job on Tuesday morning. Identified there were multiple problems and fixed the issues. Huw was extremely helpful, reliable and knowledgeable and went out of his way to fix our old boiler. Would highly recommend and would use again in the future.5*

He got back to me quickly, came straight out, fixed the situation within around 10-15 minutes and even showed me how to stop the leaking if I ever have a similar situation. Friendly, professional, quick, good job and took safety measures too. Definitley reccomend

Huw was absolutely phenomenal. The quality of his work is impeccable and his work ethic is second to none. What could have been a really long and awkward job was done efficiently and with the utmost care. Huw took the time to explain the process and how to use the new installation, which I was grateful for. I cannot recommend Huw enough.

Called for an emergency repair, Huw was very quick to respond and solved the problem immediately. Very professional service, will definitely contact again for any plumbing needs.

Prompt, professional and personable.

Brilliant. I drilled into a pipe by accident and Huw arrived in 30 mins and had it repaired within an hour. Also very nice guy and considerate. Thanks!

Fantastic service from Huw. Reliable, high quality, works hard and is also a really nice guy! Had a boiler replaced, stop tap and toilet leaks fixed and a new kitchen tap fitted. Would not hesitate in recommending him if you want a job done to the highest standard at a reasonable price in a professional way.

Huw has been looking after us now for around 3 years. Fitting and servicing our system as well as odd jobs around the house such as leaky radiators etc. He now does work for other people in our family and we have given out his number to people on several occasions.

Huw was great, incredibly thorough both with Covid-19 precautions and the work carried out. His invoice included a detailed breakdown of the repairs so I knew exactly what I was paying for and which parts had been replaced etc. He tested the part that the error code on my boiler said was broken, confirmed that was the fault, and replaced it no bother - compare this with another engineer I'd had in a few weeks earlier, who tried to tell me it was impossible to tell which bit was actually broken and that I'd be better off getting an entirely new boiler! Very grateful to have found Thornhill Plumbing, would absolutely recommend.

Huw is one of the most professional and helpful heating engineers I have met. A big thanks to him for responding to our urgent need for a major boiler repair in these worrying lockdown times. I am very happy to recommend Huw's services and will be recommending him to my clients in future. Everything from the initial contact to receipt of invoice was efficient and inspired confidence in a job well done.

Very positive experience and could not be more happier with the excellent work and service provided by Thornhill Plumbing and Heating (Cardiff). I am writing this review during the government lockdown after experiencing a plumbing emergency. Huw recognised that the issue I had could seriously escalate if left untreated and was with me within hours of my initial call. Due to the current situation (with the lockdown) Huw wore appropriate protective equipment before entering my home and demonstrated the social distancing measures at all times. Huw also tidied up after he finished and disinfected the whole bathroom with alcohol. Huw was professional, knowledgeable and displayed very high standards of workmanship in addition to being reliable and well-priced. I recommend him very highly if you want a first time resolution to any issue. Thanks again Huw!

First time I've used Thornhill Plumbing and I am very happy with the work and service received. Huw was polite, friendly and professional in his approach. I would definitely recommend and use again.

An emergency call out dealt with quickly & efficiently. Very pleasant & polite service. Would definitely recommend.

Huw was really kind and helped me out when water came through celling. Very informative kept in contact and very thorough. He gave excellent advice for me to take on board. Really very happy with his service. Will definitely call him again without question. Jane

Very happy with Thornhill Plumbing and Heating (Cardiff) Excellent communication from the start and very professional, thorough and tidy work demonstrated with installation of new boiler. Delighted to have found a friendly and reliable local plumbing service...would have no hesitation in recommending! Diolch Huw a Rosie.

Huw is by far the best plumber I have used. Having had numerous issues over the last few years and numerous plumbers (including a British Gas homecare agreement), he is the first person who has taken the time to look at the whole system to diagnose the root cause(s) of our issues. He explains everything simply and demonstrates with pictures and videos as he is undertaking the work and his professionalism is the best I have encountered from a home service provider. I would recommend him (and Rosie) very highly if you want a first time resolution. Our heating hasn't worked so well for years. Thanks Huw & Rosie!

Huw is very professional and knows his job well. Very pleased with the quality of his work he has done for me. If I have had any problems he will respond straight away.

Used Huw several times in last two years. Before starting work always explains in detail what needs to be done Fantastic service. Very thorough and extremely tidy and conscientious and reasonable prices. Highly recommended. .

Fantastic service. Extremely professional and great value for money. Highly recommend

Huw kindly fixed our shower switch today. I found him to be reliable, friendly, really helpful and he also found the time to explain in full what the problem was. I will definitely use Huw in the future and would happily recommend him. Many thanks once again Huw for your help, truly appreciated.

Huw is just brilliant! Attention to detail and knowledge of his trade is amazing. We didn't require the work we actually booked him for and his honesty meant we could therefore upgrade our system in other ways. Wouldn't consider using anyone else again! Kelvin & Jo

What can I say. We had other people serve our boiler and it was still playing up He came and sorted it all out and I'm so glad we found him. Top guy and amazing Job! Couldn't recommend anyone better. Thanks Hew.

Brilliant service in sorting our corroded pipe. Gwasanaeth ardderchog.

Excellent service at an excellent price. Our heating has never worked so well as it does now since Huw sorted it out

Huw at Thornhill Plumbing and Heating's time keeping was excellent, he explained the problems and solutions as he found them. I would recommend Huw as a reliable and efficient heating and plumbing Engineer. I would consider his charges as reasonable.

Best plumber and heating engineer we’ve ever had. Reliable, honest, well-priced, quick to reply and generous with his advice. Also made a special effort to come round straightaway to fix our boiler as he knows we have a baby to keep warm!

Excellent service, Huw was extremely efficient and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend him.

From the first, great communication and sound advice combined to inspire confidence. Thank you Huw!

Mae Huw (Thornhill Plumbing) yn gwneud gwaith arbennig ar amser, ac hefyd am bris rhesymol. Byddwn yn argymell Huw Plwm i bawb!👍

Gwasanaeth gwych, death Huw ar maser. Eglurodd beth oedd yn ei wneud, roedd y pris yn dda. Ni fyddwn yn croesawu ef I unrhyw un. Great service Huw came on time. He explained in detail what needed to be done, the price was very good. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. Diolch Huw.

Yn hapus iawn gyda gwaith Huw, yn gwneud y gwaith yn drylwyr iawn. Happy with Huw’s work goes about the work very thoroughly and explains things at each step of the way. Diolch yn fawr!

Fantastic service, great quality and value for money! I couldn’t recommend Huw more highly. Workmen of Huw’s high quality are few and far between and I will continue to call upon Huw’s services for a long time to come. Huw’s workmanship is excellent and he always goes that extra mile to ensure the best possible results. Huw has serviced my boiler, fixed my toilet, serviced and cleaned an entire central heating system and even recently fitted a new shower all to extremely high standards!

Brilliant service. Huw takes the time to explain what's going on which is really appreciated. EDIT: We had Huw back to fit a new boiler for us and he did an amazing job. His attention to detail is fantastic and he took the time to make sure everything was finished to a really high standard. He even filmed a whatsapp video for us on how to use the boiler for future reference if we ever needed it. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

We had been let down by several different plumbers. Having found Huw’s details on the Internet and reading his reviews we thought we’d give him a try! Not expecting much due to our previous experiences we were relieved to have our faith restored in the plumbing trade! Huw fixed the problem promptly and was incredibly professional and courteous. Huw definitely lived up to all the positive reviews. We will definitely be using him again should we need to and will recommend him to anyone who needs a plumber.

Huw did an excellent job for me today. A repair that took longer than expected. Will certainly contact again if I have any more plumbing problems A very personable and competent young man.

Highly recommended. On call whenever you need him

My heating packed in on Saturday. Phoned Huw who booked for midday Monday. He did not turn up. I was totally disappointed - I had a call at 6 30 PM that he had been very busy and did i still want him to come over - the answer was yes as my house was freezing. He was very professional , kind and made up for not coming in the afternoon as scheduled. Once my boiler had been fixed, I booked him again for a boiler service. I would not hesitate to recommend him for any plumbing jobs.

Found Huw on the internet. How many plumbers would come out on a friday evening to attend to an annoying kitchen sink leak? Came within the hour and oh, what a pleasant guy and efficient and thorough. Top of The Pops with us and unqualifiedly recommended.

Boiler service and various plumbing repairs (new outside tap and copper piping). Huw really cares about doing a thorough and professional job. I couldn't recommend him more and shall use him again in the future.

Really happy with the service and price, well worth it. I will definitely use them again if I need a plumber and will recommend them to friends and family. :-)

Huw very kindly took my emergency call and fitted me into his busy day. He replaced taps on bathroom basin, bath and kitchen sink and also fixed some nagging problems with the toilet cistern and shower. Everything was done in reasonable time and at a reasonable price. Very professional and polite service - one of the best plumbers I've come across.

Highly recommended! We needed a new plumber late at night after a pipe burst upstairs, Huw was one of the few to answer our calls and was with us in less than an hour., He managed to replace the two broken pipes behind the sink unit very skillfully, making next to no noise which ensured that the kids stayed fast asleep! A great job done, at reasonable rates. Thanks Huw, will call you first next time! Chris & Ali

After being let down by several plumbers our kitchen fitter recommended Huw (Thornhill plumbing and heating). Huw has now done the plumbing in the kitchen and sorted out our heating after a shoddy job by a plumber from St Mellon. Huw has been polite, on time, professional and reasonably priced throughout and I can thoroughly recommend Thornhill plumbing and heating.

Would definitely recommend Huw at Thornhill Plumbing & Heating. He has helped us out several times over the last couple of months, and is always efficient and reasonably priced.

Was available at an early date, and did the work quickly, efficiently and tidily.

I have used several plumbers over the last 10 years, all who feel it is their duty to overcharge at every opportunity and to ignore your calls should you have any problems after their work has been completed. Urgently needing a gas safe engineer to install a gas hob at very short notice, I called Hugh not expecting him to be able to assist as it was the weekend, but assist he did at a time convenient to me and even calling me to make sure I was happy once the work was completed. Hugh has totally changed my perception of what good old fashion customer service is all about, so much so, I've recommended him to several friends and have again recently used him for the fitting of new radiators. Top guy, top job, prompt, reliable and dare I say reasonable rates!! #win 10/10

Needed a call out he was very helpful on the phone and was out to me very quickly. Done the work very efficiently and neat and the price was very reasonable indeed. Would recommend to anyone.

Excellent Service. I would highly recommend Thornhill Plumbing and Heating.

Called within an hour, repaired leak efficiently. Clean tidy and reasonable price. Would call him a majic plumber. Going to do another job for us.

Have used Huw a few times now on recommendation. Very pleased with the high standard of workmanship, although always very polite too! We have had a few unexpected leaks and Huw has always been prompt at getting to us in crisis. Highly recommend his service. Reasonable prices too.

I have used Thornhill several times now for a variety of work, but most recently it was when the central heating packed up. I phoned them late on a Sunday night and they were round by 7am the next morning. They understood the importance of the work as we have a young daughter and the rates were very reasonable. The problem was fixed easily and time taken to explain the cause of the problem to us which was much appreciated. Excellent customer service, high standard of work – I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Top service from Huw, fixed the problem highly recommend ***** would definitely use them again

Contacted Huw about a leak in the bathroom. He came around promptly and when he said he would. He identified the cause of the problem quickly and was very good at explaining what was wrong. He also talked me through what he was doing to put it right. He fixed the problem and was very tidy and also very reasonably priced. He was a very nice guy to deal with - would definitely use him again and would recommend.
