Steps to get multiple electrician quotes

Open the quote flow

Go to tradehand.com/quote and describe the electrical work: consumer unit, rewire, fault find, extra sockets, EV charger, or whatever needs doing, plus your area.

Compare local electrician listings

Tradehand shows local electricians with claimed, bookable profiles. Read services, areas covered and reviews where the listing shows them. You contact or book each business direct; Tradehand does not sell one job to a shared lead list.

Ask more than one for a price

Send the same job details to more than one electrician so you can compare scope, timing and price on the same brief. A clear description of circuits, access and photos cuts back-and-forth.

Confirm NICEIC or NAPIT yourself

Before you book regulated electrical work, check the business on the NICEIC or NAPIT register.

What to put in every brief

Same facts to every electrician: address or area, property type, what you want done, when you need it, and photos of the board or fault. Ask whether the quote includes materials, making good, parking and the certificate you need (for example an EIC or minor works). Side-by-side prices only work when the scope matches.

Checking the electrician is registered

For regulated domestic electrical work, confirm the business on NICEIC Find a Contractor or NAPIT Find an Installer. Fuller scheme checks sit in how to find a reliable electrician in the UK and how to check an electrician is qualified.

What would yours cost?

We'll tell you the price for this, then find a local electrician to do it.

Frequently asked questions

I want to get quotes from multiple local electricians

Use Tradehand's quote flow at /quote: describe the job and your area, then compare claimed local electrician listings and contact more than one with the same brief. Searching and contacting is free for homeowners.

How do I compare quotes from different local electricians?

Send the same scope to each electrician: property type, what needs doing, access and photos. Compare what is included (materials, making good, certificates), timing and the total, not just the lowest day rate.

Does Tradehand charge the homeowner for electrician quotes?

No. Homeowners do not pay Tradehand to search, contact or request a quote from a trade.

Does Tradehand sell my job to several electricians as a lead?

No. You contact or book a business direct and keep that relationship. Trades pay no lead fee. Free includes the manual tools and the Assistant with £1 of usage a month: 5% of each payment Tradehand takes, card fees included. Paid plans from £19 a month, billed yearly. They add automation and more usage. Basic payment fees on your own jobs: From 1.25% + 20p, deducted automatically when the customer pays. Grow and Advanced have lower Tradehand payment fees.

How do I check an electrician is registered?

Search the scheme's own register for the business name or registration number. For most domestic electrical work in England and Wales, that means NICEIC or NAPIT. More detail is in how to find a reliable electrician in the UK.
