Emergency
You have an electrical fire or can see flames coming from a socket, appliance, or consumer unit.
Water from a leak or burst pipe is dripping onto sockets, light fittings, or the consumer unit.
Your electrical installation has been submerged or heavily soaked by flooding.
Lightning has struck your property or nearby and your electrics are damaged or not working.
High risk
A power surge has damaged appliances, electronics, or your electrical installation.
You can smell burning coming from a socket, switch, consumer unit, or electrical fitting.
Do not touch the person while they are still in contact with the electricity. Switch off at the plug or the fuse box first. If they are unconscious or not breathing normally, call 999 and start CPR. Even if they seem fine, get medical advice: electric shocks can cause hidden injuries.
Describe the job and get a fixed price from a local electrician.
