Dorset Solar Solutions Ltd

From initial design meeting, to completion- Dorset Solar Solutions were professional. We had 10x panels, 12kw battery and a smart inverter. The installation was neat and tidy. The admin (Amy) was really responsive. The roofing element was done with care. Very happy with the installed product. On a bright day we generate 35Kw, use about 7Kw a day and export 28Kw, about £3.40 In the 6 weeks since the installation we’ve use 6p a day from the network. All our electrical demand is satisfied via the real time generation or the battery. Our electric annual bill was £750, which should be under £300 including the winter dark days, that £300 will be offset with £1000 of SEG payment. Playing with the figures, we feel 5 years to get full pay back and say 10 years of full fat free energy and money coming back in. We are no longer burdened by energy Co’s and given world politics that’s a joy. All thanks to the DSS Ltd’s team, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Dorset Solar Solutions designed and installed a fantastic solar solution for us taking into account our energy needs, budget and roof direction. Both Martin and Amy are amazing, thank you both so much. Their attention to detail and the quality of their work deserves more than 5 stars out of 5. The roofers worked tirelessly to hide all the cables so we were left with a reality modern and super slick finish. Martin even took time to show me how the app worked and suggested further ways to save more money. In fact my neighbour was so impressed they are having them done soon. What a fantastic endorsement 👍🏼 I would highly recommend anybody that is interested in solar power to use Dorset solar solutions. Everyone who worked on the installation was a real pleasure to deal with and finding such a gem of a company who seamlessly delivered everything they promised felt (and still feels) so amazing. Thank you again

Fantastic installation. The entire process was simple. It started with me getting a quote from my energy supplier and I then sought another quote for comparison. Dorset Solar Solutions weren’t just 20% cheaper like for like but they recommended a bigger battery for even less money. Once we’d got DNO approval the installation was done quickly and it’s a really neat job. Martin took time to explain the modes and how to use the app. It’s all working exactly as it should be.

Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish, no hard sell, just honest straight forward information, the work was carried out with good communication and efficiency ,all the correct paperwork was sent on completion, Martin and Amy run a superb business, if you are considering a solar system, I highly recommend using Dorset Solar Solutions Ltd

Highly recommended. What a wonderful company to deal with. Martin and Amy have been so helpful, courteous, knowledgeable. Brilliant communication, extremely helpful and I couldn't be happier with the solar panels. Their scaffolders are also excellent. Very impressed happy customer. You don't find service like this very often. Thank you so much.

Very happy with my 8kw system. Could not want more from a company with regards to communication and support.

We had a really good experience with Dorset Solar Solutions, all work was completed on time and to a highly professional standard, and all communications were timely and personal. Strong recommendation with no hesitation or reservation.

Excellent all round... from initial design options, the installation, through to final handover. I had done a little background research but the whole process was explained clearly with projections and details of the installation components. The system is running well with no hiccups, and any email requests were handled very promptly. I am very happy and would highly recommend Martin and Amy for any solar install.

Great local company! Martin and Amy provided a great service. Very happy with our install

I’m genuinely delighted with the solar installation by Dorset Solar Solutions. From the very first conversation, Martin really took the time to understand my specific requirements rather than pushing a standard off the shelf solution. He listened carefully, answered my many questions with patience, and clearly knew his stuff. The system has been thoughtfully designed and delivered exactly as discussed, and it’s already performing brilliantly. The whole experience felt honest, personal, and professional, which made a big difference. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Martin and Dorset Solar Solutions to anyone looking for a well planned, high quality solar setup.

Amy and the team have been superb, very organised and proactive, we built 4 new houses which they installed the solar panels for, we had a delay with the mains electricity so could not commission the works immediately, they have kept in regular contact to see when they could get in, and been very accommodating as not all plots went live on the same day. Highly recommended from us at NZ Carpentry & Building Ltd

Had a solar system, backup gateway and battery storage planned and installed on a new build property with Amy and Martin. Discussed the options, provided information for all the products and took account of what I was hoping to achieve. It was all very well installed at a very reasonable cost and even the main contractor on the project commented on how well it was done! It all works seamlessly now with no effort from me which is ideal. Would highly recommend

Dorset Solar Solutions provided us a brilliant service. Amy and Martin supported us from start to finish, patiently working around builders and ourselves to get our system installed. Savings are already being made from our system and I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Dorset Solar Systems (Martin, Amy and the 2 roofers) were excellent from start to finish, and we are very happy with our installation. Martin comes across as being highly knowledgeable, and trustworthy, and helped us make the right choices for our situation without any hint of sales pressure. Amy is a model of efficiency and kept us well informed throughout. And the work was done to a high standard. Overall I would not hesitate to recomment Dorset Solar Systems.

From start to finish, we can only describe a positive experience! Amy was efficient, friendly and proactive in all of our interactions, with Martin courteous, knowledgable and informative at all stages to ensure we were fully briefed as to what was to occur. They provided a competitive price, great communication and were respectful at installation considering both our needs and that of our neighbours. Highly recommend!

Amy quickly responded to our request for a quote and we arranged a date for Martin to come and survey our property. On attendance we could tell Martin was very knowledgeable about the products on offer and showed us plans on the best place to have the solar panels for effectiveness. Upon receiving quote and accepting it Amy kept us informed throughout the process and what would be happening next. Date was arranged for fitting and it went without any hitches. Good team of roofers and electricians. Very professional and friendly and very tidy. Would highly recommend Dorset Solar Solutions.

Superb installation from start to finish , can't recommend more highly

Faultless experience from start to finish to after-care. Incredible workmanship, communication and knowledge. Cannot recommend highly enough - choosing Dorset Solar Solutions is the RIGHT CHOICE.

We recently had solar panels and battery fitted to our home and couldn't be happier with the service we received. From the outset, Amy kept us well informed at every stage and explaining everything clearly. Her communication gave us complete confidence in the process. Martin carried out the installation and did an outstanding job. The work was done efficiently and to a high standard, and he was incredibly helpful and professional throughout. Nothing was too much trouble for him—even going so far as to diagnose and help us fix an unrelated electrical issue while he was here. A brilliant team who made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Highly recommended!

Highly recommend Martin and Amy @ Dorset Solar Solutions. They took so much care in explaining the process of installing our solar panels and took the time to listen to our needs and tailor the quote to our requirements. The communication was above and beyond and there was minimal disruption when the solar panels were installed. I was pleasantly surprised how reasonable the cost was and all the equipment was very discreet, so no ugly boxes were visible.

Great service, extremely professional. Talked me through every stage of the installation, from apply for the solar panels to advice on setting up the export tariff. Would definitely recommend Dorset solar solutions and would use them in the future for any more solar needs.

We had 14 panels installed at the end of November by Dorset Solar Solutions. They were recommended to us by friends and that recommendation proved to be an excellent one. Service was first class from start to finish with Martin and Amy providing friendly and informative guidance and pricing was very fair. We were kept abreast of developments at all times and the installation itself was without hiccup and carried out in a single day. Martin and Amy have continued to offer advice when needed and I cannot fault the service. Highly recommended.

I recently had a solar only installation by Dorset Solar Solutions and would strongly recommend them to anyone that is considering the same. From the office side, Amy was quick to respond to my questions and was accommodating when I kept changing my mind about the final equipment I wanted fitted. During the initial site visit Martin was great at looking at my specific requirements and only recommended what I actually needed (no trying to upsell me on products or brands like I had elsewhere). The installation was all done in a day and has been done to a great standard. I would certainly use them again should I decide to add further panels or a battery in the future.

We found Martin and Amy very helpful and knowledgeable. Their responses to our queries were quick and factual. The work was of a very good quality and carried out efficiently. They were competitively priced and we would recommend them to everyone.

From the initial enquiry contact to the post-installation follow-up, the team at Dorset Solar Solutions were a pleasure to deal with. We felt extremely confident in their professional & personable approach to the planning / quotation stage. We didn't feel rushed to make a decision & kept they us informed about the progress of the order as it proceeded. Martin completed a pre-installation survey, discussed the install process & the most suitable location for the kit. He identified any potential snags that might occur & how they would work around them. The installation was completed without any snags, they cleared up after themselves, explained the installation, and helped to install the monitoring app on our phones before leaving. They have answered the odd queries we have had since the installation. We cannot recommend them more highly.

Dorset Solar Solutions recently installed an array of in-roof PV panels and a Givenergy Battery on our self build project. Martin and Amy were very patient over many months as we explored the many options available. Unlike many other contractors they are not at all pushy and always responded promptly to our questions. We are very pleased with their recommendations and we are already reaping the benefits through Octopus Energy. The installation was carried out on time and in a very professional manner and we look forward to keeping in touch with Martin and Amy for our annual maintenance.

I highly recommend Dorset Solar Solutions. Very helpful, knowledgeable and professional throughout the project and I look forward to using them again.

Very pleased with our new battery system installed by Dorset Solar Solutions. They were professional, knowledgeable and tidy. We also had a new inverter fitted to replace old microinverters which were beginning to pack up. I would definitely recommend this business to tailor any solar package. They were recommended to me and I wasn't disappointed.

Dorset Solar Solutions have been utterly brilliant with our solar installation. Martin and Amy are the most charming and helpful people and go the extra mile in every way to help and guide you in making good choices to suit you as the customer. Martin and his team were quick and efficient during a very hot weather install, Amy looking after all the admin and office functions, notifications to network providers etc. Five star service gets a five star review. Very happy customers!

I cannot recommend Martin and Amy of Dorset Solar Solutions highly enough! Martin’s professionalism and attention to detail is fantastic, and as a perfectionist myself I cannot fault the quality of the work, tidiness, and time keeping. Communication from Amy was also outstanding throughout the installation and afterwards, and on top of all this, the price was also competitive! I am confident that if I have any future concerns or questions, they won’t hesitate to help out. If you live in east Dorset, then I can highly recommend this local family firm over any of the larger installers.

It has been a pleasure to have our solar panels and battery system installed by Martin and his team. Meticulous work, extremely tidy and easy to work with. We would highly recommend anybody that is interested in solar power to use Dorset solar solutions. He went the extra mile and some on this project. Super pleased.

Amy and Martin were helpful from start to finish. Nothing was to much of a bother. Everything explained and excellent service. Can’t recommend them enough. A pleasure to do business with.

Early March this year I decided to purchase a solar panel system and asked a couple of local suppliers to quote. I decided to go with Dorset Solar Solutions based on Martin's expertise and competitive quote. When Martin first came he discussed a few options and over the next few days answered all of my questions in a professional and knowledgable way. The installation went smoothly with no problems and I now have a working battery and solar panel system which supplies 99% of my electrical energy. I now use less than 1Kwh per week and I have exported 550 Kwh in the last 2 months, which I am sure is more than predicted. I fully recommend DSS if you are thinking of going solar. Martin has a wide experience of different solar configurations. His wife Amy is always at the end of the phone to take messages and look after all the paper work. You will not get any hard sell or pressure from Martin, just sensible advice. Don't be fooled by glossy sales literature, this guy knows what he is talking about.

Highly recommend Dorset solar solutions. They carried out my recent installation of solar panels and batteries. No hard sell, just honest advice, great workmanship coupled with a great price.

Can thoroughly recommend Dorset Solar Solutions. Martin was happy to discuss less common arrangements for solar, so that we could get as many panels as was sensible on our bungalow (20 in the end) that Octopus Energy were just not interested in doing (they only suggested 9). I didn't feel at any point like suggestions were being made to ease his job and at no point were any pressure sales tactics applied. All information about the design and the ongoing process were very well communicated, which is also a great testament to Amy on the other end of the emails! DSS dealt with all the G99 applications, the structural calculations for the flat roof install and everything else. It was a very easy process for us. After all the paperwork was completed, Martin was able to do the job just a couple of weeks later. A few days prior to install, a small scaffolding rig was put up. Then it was pretty much all installed in 2 days - first day electrics were done (with no more than an hour of the electric switched off) and second day the roofers and Martin installed all the panels and wired them up. The work was left tidy after each day, and Martin made good any holes they had to make for wires to pass through. The workmanship looks great too. They even went above and beyond to fix around 6 tiles on our roof that were cracked, going to a local reclamation yard to get matching tiles. Some issues with our battery were sorted quickly (Martin was great at badgering GivEnergy support). In the end, a firmware update of the battery meant it all started working. I would highly recommend this local company.

Perfect and best price overall. Friendly and professional people. Installation of battery and EV charging point goes as planned. They made extra steps to keep job nicely presented. Fully recommended.

Martin and his team were excellent from start to finish. Very friendly and pleasant. I had a complicated project, but this didn't deter Martin, he is so knowledgable and nothing was a problem, they even tidied up after themselves! If you want solar installed - he is definitely your man!

Martin and Amy at Dorset Solar Solutions were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish, even accommodating my unusual requests! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone and have already directed a few friends their way.

Great service from start to finish. The quality of the installation is high and it’s great to support a family run, local business. We are so pleased with our solar panels, would highly recommend!

What a fantastic family run business, with excellent communications and a great installation team. They delivered in all aspects, high quality workmanship, efficient, and a competitive price.

A very professional and diligent service provided by Dorset Solar Solutions Ltd. The communication prior to installation was informative and clear, providing the various options available to us. The installation itself was professional, with a very respectful approach taken. Clean work, very efficient, by a friendly and helpful team. The post installation process has been very supportive, with follow up information provided both in soft and hard copy. Highly recommended.

Thoroughly recommend Dorset Solar Solutions, they answered all of our questions around solar and the installation process itself was professionally done. Great service from start to finish.

Great experience with this company! Unlike a lot of the others we had quote, there was no hard sale or pushy sales tactics involved. Martin put together a design that suited our budget and was carried out impeccably. Can't recommend them enough.

It was so refreshing to deal with a company focussed on the quality of installation and the customers needs. Amy and Martin at Dorset Solar Solution’s were both really informative and helpful from the start and ensured we had the perfect system for our house. They were quick to reply with any questions we were both really friendly. We high recommend them.

I had a first class experience from start to finish. I had 13 solar PV panels, Inverter, battery and a diverter fitted, competitive price, great communications and advice. I highly recommend this company

Fabulous company to deal with. Prompt, efficient, very knowledgeable and great communication. Highly recommended.

Martin and Amy at DSS helped us navigate through the complications of updating a legacy FiT system installed in 2011. I have lost count of the number of companies who have surveyed and quoted and left us unsure of the FIT compliance of the proposed project. From the start DSS understood the importance of coming up with a solution that was FIT compliant. They provided paperwork for both G99 and details for our FIT licensee (Ovo). Within a very short lead-time, the work was undertaken in a day in a very professional, neat and friendly way. The end result is we have updated our ageing grid-tie inverter, added an AC coupled battery and inverter and improved the data communications. Excellent work!

Would highly recommend Dorset Solar Solutions. Reliable, helpful and professional service - really pleased with the work undertaken.

Excellent communication from the start and the standard of installation matched this. Martin was very thorough and attentive as well as answering all of our questions promptly. The system installed was exactly what we had hoped for and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dorset Solar Solutions due to the experience from start to finish. Thank you once again!

I don’t usually bother to leave a review however due to the exceptional service I wanted to recommend Dorset Solar Solutions to anyone who is looking to invest in solar. We are so pleased we have made the switch thanks to Amy and Martin.

I can thoroughly recommend Dorset Solar Solutions. They did an excellent job fitting 5 extra panels on the front of my house. They also rectified the fault I had with the panels I had on the back of my house which were fitted in December by another company. I can't praise them enough. The communication was excellent from start to finish.

It's been a pleasure from start to finish. Great communication, excellent quality of work, really nice and helpful people who were respectful of our home, and the price exactly what we were quoted. The whole process has exceeded our expectations in all aspects. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

So happy I found Amy and Martin - what an excellent service, would highly recommend

We would thoroughly recommend this company.their staff were very polite and helpful and kept us informed on the progress throughout the installation, brilliant job excellent price.

Really lovely family-run business! They were extremely prompt in providing myself and my partner with a quote for solar panels. Our roof is oddly shaped with loft conversion windows etc, but this was no issue for the team- they really left no stone unturned when it came to discussing details and talking us through our options. Can't recommend Dorset Solar Solutions enough!
