Excellent experience from design through to installation. I’ve had a very positive experience with SGS from my initial enquiry right through to the final installation and commissioning of my solar PV and battery system. During the initial design stage I had a lot of questions — probably far more than the average customer, and also made a number of changes to the specification as I worked through exactly what I wanted from the system. Chelsea and Sam were both extremely patient and helpful throughout this process. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and I never felt pressured into making a decision. Instead, they took the time to answer my questions and accommodate the changes I wanted to make. The installation itself took three days and was carried out by Paul, Charlotte and Rob. They were a pleasure to have around: friendly, helpful and clearly took a great deal of pride in their work. They also happened to be installing during some of the hottest summer weather we’ve had this year, so particular credit has to go to Rob working up on a very hot roof and Charlotte working in an attic that was probably even hotter! Despite the conditions, the standard of workmanship throughout was first class. The finished installation is extremely neat and professional, and I'm genuinely very pleased with the end result. Paul, Charlotte and Rob were also happy to explain things and answer questions as the installation progressed, which I really appreciated. From the initial discussions and system design through to installation and commissioning, I’ve found the whole SGS team knowledgeable, accommodating and very pleasant to deal with. After spending a considerable amount of time researching solar and battery systems before going ahead, I wanted the installation done properly rather than simply choosing on price. Based on my experience, I’m very pleased that I chose SGS and would have no hesitation in recommending them.

SGS have just completed the installation of a new Tepeo electric boiler for the heating system in my flat. It was quite complex as an old battery had to be removed. The tam of Laine Callum and Paul were so helpful and considerate, and left everything so clean and tidy. I am very pleased with the system so far.

I struck it lucky as the guys, Craig, Paul and Rob were absolutely brilliant. They guided me through the installment, answered my questions and then got on with the job. They barely had a break, they just got on with it, each having their own part to play. It was really impressive to see their expertise, they certainly knew what they were doing and they didn't want to stop until it was done. They even cleaned up any mess they made inside! The conditions were appalling, one of the hottest days of the year and no shade! The system was up and running in no time, and of course, working perfectly. I was given a very comprehensive explanation of the new system which I found really useful and informative, and all my questions were answered. At the end the scaffolding was mentioned and I told them I was going to clear out my gutters while it was up but immediately they offered to do it for me. It took them 2 minutes but it saved me doing it, how helpful was that! They all deserve a big thank you, and a big bonus wouldn't go amiss either!! I truly am very grateful to them for making this installation so easy for me.

What a great service today from SGS energy. Rob, Charlotte and Craig came to install solar panels. Such a friendly, fun, knowledgeable team and a pleasure to have them working in my home. Rob explained everything about the system in very clear, easy to understand detail and I was super impressed with Charlotte crawling around in the dreadfully hot loft. Title: Poor installation, unresolved faults, and lack of after-sales support We engaged this company in November 25 to provide Tesla Powerwall change over in a situation of a power cut along with associated PV integration works carried out under their supervision and instruction. Despite multiple detailed reports, photographs prior to estimating the system on the first power cut failed to operate , and repeated attempts to resolve the issues, the installation remains incomplete and not functioning as expected. June 26 The system is not performing correctly, PV generation is not operating as it should, and we continue to experience increased electricity costs as a result. We have also discovered that the company was not properly registered and that the installer was not a Tesla-approved installer, although knowing it was a tesla system they were working on , which raises further concerns about the quality, integrity and compliance of the work carried out. After-sales support has been extremely poor. Communication has been inconsistent, with responsibility passed down from the M D and then between different staff members without resolution. A partial goodwill offer of £600 was made, which does not reflect the scale of the issues or additional costs incurred, including over £2,000 of related electrical works to a system left still not working . We have requested that a qualified Tesla-approved engineer be appointed to rectify the issues, but this has not been actioned. At this stage, we are left with an underperforming system, unresolved faults, and no meaningful resolution despite repeated attempts to engage. Avoid at all costs !!!!!!!!!! We would also advise others to carefully consider their due diligence before proceeding with this company .

We cannot praise the SGS team enough, they have been professional, efficient and very helpful. We are delighted with our heat pump and cylinder installation and special thanks to our installation team Andy, Craig and Joe.

Barely scrapes a 1 star. A brief overview. You will be required to pay all monies upfront before work commences! Matt and other senior managers, as previously reported, do not reply to emails. Our instal started almost a month ago. 3 days in it was found that the hot water cylinder was damaged in transit. It had already been with SGS a week before being delivered. It was returned to Heat Geek to be reskinned and was back with us within 2 days. It took a further 2 weeks before they could squeeze us in to fit. In the meantime the heat pump was installed but not hardwired as they didn’t have the correct breaker. 17th April came but was rescheduled to 20th on the day, having taken a day off work. 20th came around but instal not finished, lagging put on but not secured to pipework behind the heat pump, condensation drain pipe that was resting on a pipe offcut and propped by stones and a few other items. Plumber returning on Monday to complete.another manager came over last week, 17th to look at the wiring on the heat pump to get it hardwired but even after 3 weeks, still didn’t have the correct breaker(I could order from CEF for delivery in 2 days). He said he was returning asap to fit, another week has passed and still not resolved. In the meantime SGS have applied for the grant and I’ve had the email welcoming me to the heat pump world! I spoke to the regulator today who advised me to switch off the heat pump having seen the photos as there is no protection and isolation and could overload the domestic circuit. We wait and see what happens. Please also be aware that SGS are Octopus approved partners, so beware if they fit your system! A few finished photos attached. Pipe insulation behind the heat pump. Trunking bent as pipes not aligned so the facia on the trunking isn’t secure and drops. Well, I’m happy to say the saga is finally over. To his credit the MD Jonny Howes came over with Neil the installation manager a few weeks ago to have a look at the installation. He himself wasn’t impressed as it was not up to his standard and would be taking action accordingly. An appointment was made for 18/5 for another manager to pop over and deal with the significant works, however, one item was missed which Jonny and Neil rectified today. In light of being handled by the directors, I have updated the star rating from 1 to 3 as I still had to pursue the work today and have added the rectified items photos.

Really great service from SGS Energy. From start to finish they have been extremely professional. Phone contact was great and put us at ease. Communication excellent. Initial call out for diagnostic followed up by sorting out the issue. Craig was helpful, knowledgable and professional. He took us through what he planned to do, explaining his expected outcome. We would definitely use SGS Energy again and highly recommend their professionalism.

Useless company. A guy called Neal did a site visit over 3 weeks ago for EV charger, Heat Pump service and to move a socket. So far I have emailed them 3 times to chase for the quotes and spoke to another guy called Sam on Tuesday who assured me we would have the quotes on Wednesday - but still nothing. I wouldn't waste your time on them, if this is an indication of their general standard of efficiency and work look elsewhere.

We had Solar panels and a battery fitted 2 weeks ago and are very pleased with the installation.Rob,Craig and Charlotte worked incredibly fast and efficiently on day 1 and when I returned from a slightly delayed second day,I was happy to see the finished work neatly installed with an excellent clean up.I have delayed the review to make sure everything is working correctly and it is.We have been happy with the process, fitting and a competitive quote from SGS energy. We have now followed on with our heat pump and radiator install at the end of march.We are very pleased with our installation that took a week .We did have a few minor issues but these were resolved quickly.We must thank Andy,Kaylum, Matt and Craig again for all their hard work to get us up and running.A particular shout out to Matt Howes who did our heat loss assessment and put together the planned system with great care and professionalism and answered my difficult questions!

I had an air source heat pump and EV charger installed by SGS Energy in January, mainly to replace a combi boiler that was on its last legs. Throughout the project I was in contact with several members of the team, and everyone I dealt with was responsive, helpful, and professional — thank you to all involved (and apologies for not naming everyone individually!). The installation team did a great job fitting the system and were also able to adjust the layout so I could still keep some much-needed storage access in the loft, which I really appreciated. I did encounter a small issue with the heat pump a couple of months later, but SGS responded quickly. Once the cause was identified, Laine was able to come out and resolve it the very next day — even though it was a weekend. Many thanks for the quick support.

I want to pass on my thanks to Matt, Jonny and the team at SGS Energy for their hard work, competitive price and faultless customer service. We recently had an Air Source Heat Pump system fitted, replacing a Combi boiler system. When the comprehensive home survey was carried out with a detailed financial analysis, SGS were completely honest and advised us not to have a solar system fitted due to our roof design and position. The ASHP survey suggested a few radiator upgrades which was included in the price. and Laine and Kaylum worked tirelessly, kept our home tidy and solved some unforeseen issues without any fuss. Upgrading some radiators, powerflushing the system and a new unvented cylinder hot water which has massively improved our hot showers! We have noticed a massive difference already with a lovely, even heat throughout the house. No more gas bills! The team secured a £7,500 grant for us which made the cost of the project a complete no brainer. Replacing our 12 year old boiler would have literally cost the same price! We would not hesitate to recommend SGS to anyone and I have already passed your details on to several of my customers.

What an absolutely great company SGS Energy are. From the initial contact with Carla to the impressive design team of Sam and Alfie who accommodated many design twists as we designed the system for our house. Neil the head engineer was super thorough on his site visit and nothing was too much trouble from anyone. I visited the showroom to get a look at the panels and bird guards and met the whole team. The installation only took two days and the scaffolding erected by SBB scaffolding was super impressive and Liam kept in contact before and after the install. Roofers Matt and Noah had the 10 panels up on the roof in super quick time which left Neil and Craig to complete the install of our Sig Energy system. Craig was very meticulous with his routing of the cables from the roof to the tidy work in our fuse board cupboard. The installation was great and we are so pleased to have gone with a local company who have done a fantastic job. If you’re looking for a solar panel install these guys are great and very competitive on price.

SGS fitted some solar panels on our house. After a couple of months some cables started hanging down underneath them. They’ve tried a couple of times to poke them back up. But they keep falling down. It really needs scaffolding for them to do a proper job. But obviously they don’t want to pay for it. It’s been a year since we first mentioned this problem. I wouldn’t recommend them.

I can’t praise these guys enough, everything from the initial contact, the quoting process and finally the panel installation was excellent. All the wiring and components have been installed neatly and the install team worked around us and were a pleasure to have on site. If only all tradespeople worked to these high standards.

Back in 2022 we embarked on a complete house renovation and felt it would be a good move to install solar panels. We read reviews for SGS and decided to proceed with them, all went well and the solar panels were installed and the after care was great.

Great support in installing and servicing our Solar and Heat Pump systems

I just had the first service on my valiant Heat Pump. The engineer was here for less than 30 minutes. He used no materials whatsoever apart from a bit of surface spray & charged me £350 what a complete rip off. My gas boiler used to cost £70 & he done a more exhaustive service, emission check ect. Any costs I may have saved with the Heat Pump are now completely eliminated. If I had known the annual service charge was going to cost this much I would not of had it installed.

SGS Energy instilled confidence from the start, especially with Sam's deep design and operational knowledge of air source heat pumps and underfloor heating systems. Initially, I was very impressed with SGS energy. They seemingly have competitive pricing and very nice documentations of how you could save money with their install, but unfortunately after I sent the deposit things deteriorated. 1. I had questions regarding battery size, and the agent I spoke with told me he did not know why the given battery was chosen or if a higher capacity would be a better option. It was left there. 2. They stopped communicating promptly after the deposit was made. I emailed them two separate instances about the installation date and installation plans with no response for over one week with multiple email attempts. 3. The final straw for me was understanding the poor installation design. They wanted to use wood frames for the panels and incorporate these into our new roof. This would create many weak points in the roof which would be susceptible to leaks and rot. These points would require ongoing checks and maintenance. Industry standard is to install panels on a flat roof with an aluminium frame that sits on the top of the sealed flat roof (ask any roofer or chatgpt). This is why their pricing seems competitive. They cut corners to seemingly save money. Given all these issues, I decided to back out as I had a lack of confidence in their procedures. They refused a full refund. Be very wary of this company! They might come up cheaper, but that is because they cut corners with the install which could cost you later down the line. They are also very unresponsive after they take your money. Go elsewhere!

Good system. Does what it needs to. I have 4 batteries connected to the solar so I can charge these for next to nothing over night. The customer service from Johnny and Neil has been great. They came out very promptly to resolve any minor issues and answer any questions I had ( I had lots) All of the office staff Johnny and Neil have been brilliant.

I asked on Facebook for recommendations to fix a problem my 90yrs old mother had with a newly installed heat pump system. People recommended Matt Howe and his company SGS Energy in Broadstairs and I’m so pleased they did! I d like to personally thank Matt Howe of SGS for his prompt attendance at the property, for providing a comprehensive report on the problem and for liaising with the Advanced EcoDirector to sort payment out. All done and the problem sorted in 3 days. Proper Customer Service at its best. If you’re considering solar panels and a heat pump I highly recommend this company.

Matt at SGS spent a lot of time working with us to design our heat pump installation quote and get the best value, which was complicated as we were doing some renovation work which meant our requirements changed during the work. Matt was really flexible with making changes and happy to work with our builders to get it right. We've decided to delay the installation till next year but appreciated Matt being very clear and honest about the installation requirements rather than telling us what we wanted to hear to get a quick sale - I've now got confidence that when we do go for it that we'll get a system which will perform well and be much more efficient in the future.

Having received quotes for solar panels plus battery from both local and national companies, SGS stood out at the early stages due to their speed of response and thoroughness in proposing a suitable system after listening to our requirements, including limiting damage to our Kent peg tiled roof during installation. The installation of the solar panels and the GivEnergy system was well planned and undertaken by SGS employees assisted by professional roofers for installing the roof rails and panels. Within 2 days the system was installed and commissioned, allowing us to start making savings. We are very pleased with the professional planning and installation and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending SGS to others in a similar position.

SGS installed a heat pump, underfloor heating, solar panels and car charger for me in October 2023. They were very professional and capable both on the technical installation and in organising the Government grant and helping with plans for planning permission for additional panels on my garage roof. They organised an independent heat loss survey at the start of the project which was invaluable for a 1920s house - I learned I did have cavity wall insulation! I've had a wonderful, warm all electric winter and spring and a delightful summer of exporting power to the grid, with absolutely no problems in any of systems. I would certainly recommend SGS as a very trustworthy and professional company to deal with.

We have wanted solar panels for some time however cost has always put us off. SGS advised the cheapest prices I'd seen so we took the plunge. After receiving our quote with the data, a date for installation was arranged. What was booked for two days was reduced to one due the the efficiency of the team. The engineer went through all of the component part explaining how they worked and showing me the app. Excellent price and great workmanship. Definitely recommend. 👌

The quotation and advice received were dealt with efficiently and positive. This enabled us to carry out the preparatory steps (further insulation etc.). The installation involved at least 4 people but was handled quickly (3 days). The commisioning was adequate and follow up advice was available. Perhaps a little more time could have been spent on fully briefing us on the controls and the way tyhe system functions. So far, we have found the switch to this air source heat pump system very beneficial, and are grateful to SGS for their care and attention to detail.

I cannot speak highly enough about SGS Energy. They installed a heat pump to replace an aging gas boiler. They responded to my initial enquiry promptly visited the site and spent time explaining the options and implications. Their advice was clearly based on considerable experience and was very helpful. Their quote was fully itemised and very reasonably priced. The men arrived to start the work on the scheduled date at 8.00 am - even before I had got out of the shower! All the installation staff were excellent, particularly Mick and Zac who were a pleasure to have in the house and the two electricians hardly stopped for a break the whole day they were here. Throughout the job we were kept fully informed by the office who responded immediately to any queries. Recently, having turned on the space heating for the first time a small teething problem occurred and their chief engineer was here within an hour! You can't ask for more than that for service.

SGS did a fantastic job installing our solar panels and battery system. It was easy to understand what they were going to do right from the outset and the whole process took just a couple of days once the date was set. Everything was well explained to us beforehand and the system is very easy to use. They are also on hand to answer any questions I've had about more technical features (like smart home integration). I highly recommend SGS for anyone looking to have a system like this installed. They were very easy to deal with, very friendly and not pushy at all unlike some alternatives we dealt with when initially getting quotes. If we ever need anything else (likely an extra battery in the future) then we won't hesitate to contact SGS about this.

SGS energy installed solar panels, a heat pump system, new pipework and radiators at my bungalow in April 2024. The project went very smoothly, and the issues that arose were sorted out quickly. I am very pleased with my new systems. The SGS people that worked at my house were friendly and courteous, and it was easy to contact company representatives by phone, to sort out queries. I think my experience could have been improved if the solar panels work and the heat pump work had been managed by one person. I wouldn't hesitate to use SGS again.

SGS worked how we expect tradesmen to work when they are working in your house for 4 - 5 days. On time, respectful, tidy (tidying up every day, nothing for a 1 year old child to put in their mouth) and just incredibly pleasant and knowledgeable to work with. From the initial site inspection they thought outside of the box for how to consolidate 2 heating supplies in a converted barn into one central ASHP and 1 tank with exposed pipes looking great across a beam. We even had an Electrician we called Hairy Spice (love child of Jack Black and a spice girl). We went for a Vaillant system due to the app controls, we have reduced power usage daily in excess of 30kwh (annual 11,000kwh) partially due to an inefficient previous setup and a good new install. Happily recommend SGS, they seem focused on supplying value to a customer and driven on customer outcomes at the best price.

We had an air source heat pump and new radiators fitted by the team at SGS special mention to fitters Laine Eddie and Lewis and office Matt and Callum the whole experience was positive the lads got over some difficult existing pipe work issues and everything fitted in a timely fashion and all for the cost of an equivalent gas boiler I would highly recommend this company for your green energy needs and I would definitely use them in the future

EV Charger Installation I carried out a lot of research into EV chargers / installers before deciding on SGS. I am so glad I did - what a great company! As mentioned in other reviews, from start to finish the whole team were polite, helpful and professional. The installers arrived on time, the installation was carried out in less than 3 hours - all up and running with no problems at all. Everything left neat and tidy. I would highly recommend this company.

The team from SGS Energy were truly amazing. They saved our heating system. We had a heat pump fitted two and a half years ago and it never worked properly. We tried to get the company that fitted it to come and rectify the problems. They stopped answering our calls and ignored all correspondence. Stay clear of Project Better Energy. Calling them cowboys is too good for them. We found Matt and his team and from the beginning there customer service and professionalism were outstanding. From coming to inspect the work until completion they were the absolute best. Nothing was too much trouble. They had a big task to perform and done it with outstanding workmanship. We had to have our whole system decommissioned and recommissioned. It was like starting all over again. Nothing fazed the team. Nothing was too much trouble and it was an absolute pleasure to have them working in our home. Needless to say the finished product is outstanding We never thought it would be up and running how.it should.of been.
